Sodium ion battery is going to be great for the static storage industry, but not necessarily for transport.

It'll ultimately help the lithium ion workspace as it will get more customers into buying storage mediums that otherwise wouldn't due to lithium prices. I've watched a zinc boron battery company go from hundreds of millions into orders into multiple billions in a single year to due uptake in general consensus for having storage in the first place.

The bigger the battery industry becomes as a whole will be better for lithium in the long run. Having energy storage as a growing medium that has increased uptake every year will create a storage tier economy where those who previously wouldn't invest will come to the table, and premium storage will likely remain lithium ion in the short term.

Remember, we have solid state coming in a few years, lithium sulpher is being built by LG right now and recent paper about the lithium degradation issue has been adressed and looks very good.

Cliffs; poor for transport, good for static and great for the industry overall.
