Average age of vehicles on Australian roads is over 10 years of age.

Replacement rate of old cars with new is about 5% per year. EV's make up a small percentage of that 5%, number is growing yes but with new ICE vehicles still being available for the next 12 to 17 years at least, it will be some time before EV's dominate our roads. The 2nd hand car market is way bigger than the new car market.

Australian's have been quick to take up technology they perceive helps them, the perception of EV's helping them is not there.

I'm heavily invested in the Lithium market as I see it is the way to go. I'm also a realist on how quickly it won't be adopted in Australia.

We don't have our own automotive industry so by default, eventually we will have no choice but for now, we do. I'd happily buy a 10yo Hyundai i30 than a new EV if I was looking to replace my car now.
