So if broker and client have cosy relationships that means no possibility of manipulation or corruption?
No clients receive preferred advice according to the size of their brokerage account?
Not necessarily referring here to GS ...power and wealth to the rich?
Breadcrumbs for the rest of us when it suits? (Their thinking?)

When I worked for a Syney broker a group of brokers and friends (not necessarily my employer)
met with their mates in a restaurant, from memory near the corner of King St & George Sts,
to decide on afternoon price moves based on conditional orders held
as well as their morning phone calls with large clients.

After lunch they raced back to their phones and/or the trading floor
having notified preferred clients what was likely in the afternoon.
There were also house trading accounts and informed
institutions, some employing informed relatives.

It was a long time ago.
Today it may be all on mobile phones

Nothing corrupt these days ... everyone now is far more democratic and honest?
