The people who buy EVs are wealthier than average, so they are less affected by the economic stagnation. For most it is their second car.
Whilst sales of ICEs are static worldwide, EVs are roaring.
meanwhile here is Oz - see this article in yesterday's Canberra Times - we are importing $30 billion a year of oil and gas. That is what the FF companies are worried about - eventually they will lose most of that - hence all the manipulation of SP for many lithium companies.
