CATL took a strategic investment because they wanted product for its chemical suppliers and PLS needed money to stay afloat. They also thought they were a chance of taking a bigger stake in the company I’m sure. Then the China relationship soured and any chance of getting an asset disappeared.
Won’t happen now.
