I've just closed 25% of my short @$4. I've moved my stop for the rest down to breakeven and will adjust it based on a hybrid of the hourly and daily moving averages. I'll either close out the rest at $3.60 or get stopped out.
Risk of a gap up? You'd never trade if you were scared of a gap up or down. There's always a risk but those odds are quite low. Particularly with PLS, there's no news on the horizon. PLS has next to no chance of a takeover and the other things you mention are fluff that won't cause much share price movement.
