Just so you are aware of what you posted; the LHS is a spot price chart. The RHS are volumes sold under contract. The RHS side shows prices in excess of $45k. Im not sure if you are aware but LTC vols are often set with trailing floors and ceilings, meaning reference prices used to calculate the current month's sales price is based on last month/quarter prices. Hence, in July the price of hydroxide was $45k+ to some of those countries. It was even higher in prev months. Hence I can understand why Aug prices are $45k+ in some instances. Also the prices dont quite make sense from a reporting perspective. While I acknowledge that there is not just one price for lithium the price sold to Italy looks to have set a guiness book of records all time high of $97k!!! Yikes. We need to tell POSCO to start selling to Italy!
