Why not do a comparison analysis over a 5 year period.
If you purchased your vehicle under say a 4yr lease/loan, I think you will find the lower fuel and maintenance costs for the EV will more than offset the higher lease/loan repayments, which could be applied to your home solar spend from the get go.
Use 15,000km average distance travelled per year, and say $1.80/litre for petrol/diesel and public changing $0.62/kwh, without solar home charging at $0.30/kwh and with home solar $0.15/kwh for electricity. Maintenance cost for EV's are +67% less than ICEV equivalent, but lets say $1,600 for ICE and $534 for the EV, do the math, you will be surprised ,
