40k to 55k euros more like is a helluva lot of money for a new electric car that Joe blogs cannot afford ( believe me ) with 'issues' like range anxiety, useless charging facilities still making an ICE the better option by a country mile.
Finance is a big issue too.
Most buyers of EVs are cash rich and can buy them outright.
Many factors to be considered and resolved.
EV prices are coming down, but the shoddy models that look and drive like a badly made toy don't cut the mustard YET.
Banning new ice models by 2035 might happen If the subsidies bring the total purchase price to around 25k eur. Gov going to pony up half will not happen.
