Today looks like a bit of capitulation at the recent lows. Almost a double bottom at $3.72.
I read the analysts latest revenue forecasts. Some are way out using $2200USD/t or thereabouts.
Contract pricing is a lot higher. AUD has dropped off a cliff since last qtr. $3Bill in cash probably getting 3% to 4% p.a on treasuries on at least half of that?
160kt * $3200USD/t = $512MUSD / .65 exchange rate = $780MAUD. Giving about $500MAUD profit. 70cps on a yearly basis is my estimate. Uncertainty of pricing going forward will be a negative. Update on POSCO JV commissioning will be a positive and any output going forward will offset any weakening spod prices going forward. I expect narrative on pricing will still pressure the market for a while but figures will show PLS still making a lot of money and this may be their weakest qtr for some time. Time will tell.
