What I can't understand is why the industry is focused on EV's, surely the elephant in the room is battery grid storage. From what I can see most of the grids in Australia are on the edge of melt down due to the solar inputs during the day, they don't get base load generators running all day and when the sun goes down the peak demand kicks in. They say that Lithium batteries are good for the first 2 hours or so and then other options are needed. South Australia's grid failed, and they put the big Tesla battery since then they seem to be coping. If Australia is in this position so must be the rest of the world.
