The need for lithium in grid supplementing and energy storage cannot be argued, and the demand is being met by those forward thinkers who abstain from the spreading of this type of fear, uncertainty, etc... Reminds one of the barn owners who kept arguing the advantages of a horse during the last transition omg, and to cover it up in sheeps clothing about just go with the flow... do you want sprinkles on that sugar coating... think global, act local, or just keep shouting at change until it hopefully goes away or your senses get so buggered up you can't tell where the windmills are anymore, and pancho's out chasing the gals... we are being given a lovely time window in which to invest. Country's which started saving back in 2015, like China, by accelerating EV adoption are well on their way to an economic advantage that was passed up by those willing to politicize this winning strategy.
