Redox flow battery to be exact. Reduction - Oxidation. Vanadium Redox Batteries (VRB) seem most developed of the flow batteries. Large grid scale size batteries going up in China currently and Japan has had a site for many years. Lithium batteries are not the answer for grid energy storage, however lots of (growing) demand from mobile energy storage.
