The IRA in its current form, may well end up turning the US into a Cuba ( at least in the ST) in regards to passenger vehicles. CATL & BYD are the biggest battery manufacturers and their dominance will continue. BYD (which is a battery company that started building vehicles) setting up in Mexico.
China may well still dominate EV sales in the US, without IRA support, such is their production dominance. GM and Ford destined for government propping up, to survive.
At some stage, the reality of owning an EV will flip ICE owners to ditch their horse and cart. It ain’t far away.

I have now owned a PHEV for 3 weeks. Not once have I utilised the ICE. The 60km EV range is perfect for town driving. I did wire in a 32A outlet/7kW charging for the convenience of a quick charge, if required. For the most part, overnight 2kW charging would be adequate.
The driving experience is tranquil and superior to ICE. Tow vehicles not there yet and in large part, besides range, the charging infrastructure is the limitation. Tesla are taking over the charge network.
