That "Sell" recommendation has a limited Use By date as GS rationalise their opinion purely on comparative measures (versus clearly weaker industry peers) and not on the merits of the PLS business as a standalone/ diversified producer (i.e. upstream and downstream operations).
This narrow view suits the GS narrative, but gives investors with a broader perspective an opportunity to capture shares in an industry leader at bargain prices.
When GS says it's a "Sell", I usually do the opposite.
