Citi: "We hosted a Lithium Expert Call on January 17 with Mr. Zhou Zhicheng, analyst at SMM, who shared his views on the lithium market.
"Mr. Zhou thinks the lithium price will stabilize in the near future, although with limited upside catalysts for a price rebound ahead.
"He expects the lithium market to remain in supply surplus in 2024 and be likely to swing back to re-balance during 2025-26.
"Mr. Zhou also commented that African spodumene will be the most vulnerable part of the incremental supply this year, of which the output might be a miss amidst the lithium price decline.
"He also expects a notable month-on-month decline in lepidolite-based lithium carbonate production in Jan."
