I remember a day or two of debating with Oz about his narrative that battery manufacturers would not expand at the rate needed to soak up the (paper) supply he was counting. As it turns out, there is/was an oversupply of batteries in China, which were made at a high costs due to high battery metal prices and sold as inventory drawdown over 23 CY at a discount to production cost (oh maybe the subsidies helped) to drive down supposed demand and with it, lithium prices. To my way of thinking, you cant make this shyte up, China's red is green and their green is red, how many China battery manufacturers are tier 2 and 3, hope you didn't buy an EV, smart phone or electric whipper tripper in 2023.

Anyways, Oz should feel somewhat emboldened that a few big players also exited too early, MINRES sold its stake in PLS at 205 cents, I think CATL was similar and the company who co-funded the Altura TO at 139 cents, even though Oz was well below those numbers, at least there's something he can hold onto there...
