I think what the market thinks is more important, sorry to say.
EVs are good no doubt but not without their challenges. Wait till you have to change your battery which is a big cost and when you have to sell it in second hand market to find a big depreciation, because any new buyer of EV would want the latest technology. Tesla cutting price of its cars not helping those who bought a Tesla earlier (before the price cut). And recently with power outage, we discovered how vulnerable we are when the power is out - no lights, no internet, no electric cook top, no airconditioning, and no power for the EV. And if the Labour Govt can't even move quicker on establishing the EV charging infra, good luck waiting with an LNP Govt.
I had wanted to buy a hybrid too, but the waiting time was crazy, as was with EV back then.
