I know England has a surcharge system everytime you drive certain vehicles in those zones and certain vehicles are exempt. I don't object to that kind of system, you have a choice.
If every car in Australia disappeared, including EV as the majority are charged via Fossil Fuel at this stage, it would make negligible difference to world greenhouse effects.
Looking to slug everyone who buys a certain type of vehicle an extra $25k reeks of money grabbing.
A UK system is more preferable to me, because as I said, people have options.
