Show me a single EV that is "a few $1000" over the price of an equivalent ICE powered vehicle.
As for towing, we are not debating how many people tow, nor what "will be addressed" (the EV extremists seem to be very vocal on telling us to just wait a bit longer, things will improve). If only 10% of people tow seriously, that's still a few million people in Australia alone. So it may not impact the majority, but it's an undeniable issues (unless of course you deny facts, which you appear to be ok with) to a lot of others.
You quote the cyber truck, rivian and F150 lighting as somehow being a feasible replacement for the workhorse utes our utility and trades sector use. This something the "common man" would never do. So you've also outed yourself as being anything but.
The uptake in those regions you mention is purely based on subsidies and mandates.
And with the vast majority of EVs and batteries being carbon intensively produced in China, the more they make, the worse their air quality becomes. Not better. But hey, who cares right. As long as the wealthy like yourself can virtue signal from the comfort of your new Tesla, whilst deriding the peasants but still claiming to be a common man. The hypocrisy.
