I concur, dim. A vehicle with two drivetrains would make me feel twice as vulnerable to breakdown out on the open road. One might as well hitch up a mule to the nubile pole girls as an alternate power source carry my liter, thus spoiling the otherwise magnificent view of the journey - outrageous!
Worth noting a few years back when pure-EV's were the talk of the town (absent the current media negativity) sales of hybrids were dropping like a stone - now not. But that too (increasing sale of hybrids) is just part of the cyclical evolution towards the dominance of pure EV's.
As W.C. Field's once said: "Hybrids' are like women, I like to look at em but I wouldn't like to own one."
