From the article - Various offers for African origin material were heard in the Chinese market. A minimum 5% lithium oxide content spodumene was heard offered at Yuan 6,400/mt in the market. However, a trader said that at this price, it was “hardly acceptable, not profitable to buy."“We were offering $1,000/mt for some time [for SC 6.0 CIF China basis] but [there has been] no acceptance yet,” said a miner. However, despite tepid demand from the market, offers were holding firm. “We don’t want to sell any lower,” he added.Buyers were reluctant to procure spodumene due to weak demand. “Spodumene cannot trade at $1,000/mt, it has to be below that,” a trader said.
