The time for EV will come. As an owner of an EV and an ICE machine I can confirm that (at present) there is a place for both. We prefer the EV for all around town driving (charging it up on the home solar) and then use the ICE for all out of town driving.
This will inevitably change to all EV when batteries improve as the EV has so many advantages over an ICE. Hybrids are certain to play an intermediary role.
