i joked with my employer the other day, "now that you have solar on the workshop roof, all I need is an electric AWD poclet rocket and i'll never have a fuel bill again".
Businesses will likely eventually offer charging facilities as incentive to work/do business there. If they have solar its not much extra cost in the scheme of things and is a very efficient use of excess solar.
if traveling 15000km / year @ 10Liters / 100km and $2/L fuel = 3k a year in fuel cost savings. Just shy of 60 bucks a week.
i know of an electrical business in my home town that does just this, they have 4 chargers in their carpark outside the front doors open to anyone to use.
