I’m happy with a 4% yield, fully franked. 5% interest yield from your term deposit will have tax implications, so you will end up behind there on net income after tax.
I can tell from your tone you are starting to get frustrated. Probably because you have been proven wrong again. But for some reason you keep coming back, and only on red days. Very quiet on the green ones.
My 50% dividend ratio is based on a reasonable assumption that once the current capital initiatives are complete, then the ratio will increase.
You continue to use BHP and other mining stocks as a comparison. They payout 70-80% of their free cash flow as dividends - if we are going to compare like for like, would you like me to increase PLS payout ratio to the same? I don’t think you will like the results there, pal.
