DFS...no not at all...mum/dad cant short...u miss the point ...i was trying to help explain how shorts/stock borrow works...the IB's are just a conduit..it is NOT them as a firm...or trade..they are service providers...they provide stock borow/shorts...just like commsec or whoever provide margin loans etc..its a service..its not them
it goes under their name...but it is their clients ( hedgies etc) that are actually short....so dont blame the Ib's...blame their clients...was my ppoint.
( it may be hard to understand if not been int he game...i was just trying to help...think what u will...all good...but tipping i have way better understanding on stock borrow/shorts and being under IB names than u ! mayb not...but when u see say Citi increase substantial...sunds like they buying..they not...they actually have more short selling etc)
