Because the wind and sun don't charge me to provide me energy. Yes there is some initial capital cost to have the systems in place but ongoing opex is non-existent or minimal relative to other energy sources.
Uranium is required to run a nuclear reactor, coal for a coal power plant, natural gas for gas.
