I'm not too agitated by Labor's capitulation to the car industry and fossil fuel lobby. I predict that the emissions standards will be tightened further before they are implemented in 2029. To comply with the rules, car makers will have to dramatically increase the number of low emissions cars they sell, i.e. EVs. There might be waiting lists for the old-fashioned ICE cars as they fade away and become a niche/vintage interest.
