The interesting thing is that hybrid manufacturers have twigged to the popularity of bigger batteries to extend the electric (cheaper to run) portion of their use. I cite the latest Toyota Prias - Google to research . And if the trend continues, their brief day in the sun might serve to be positive should the popularity of Hybrids with much bigger batteries enhance take-up at an accelerated rate - at least until world-wide charging infrastructure has all but replaced service stations and EV/battery tech advances (just a little bit more ) and price parity arrives, and people start to complain about the maintenance cost of running two drivetrains .
