You keep on referring to articles like this by journalists with brain-dead analysis, which obviously appeal to similarly minded people.

    Totally oblivious to seasonality.

    The AFR article says:
"BYD – the most feared of the new EV players from China – has seen price cuts dent its profitability, while on Tuesday it announced that sales in the first quarter fell 42 per cent."
but does not elaborate on what the figures compare.

The journalist here (and in many other places too)
    https://www.motorfinanceonline.com/news/byds-q1-ev-sales-drop-43-ceding-worlds-biggest-ev-seller-title-to-tesla/
adds more context to the data and says:

"BYD disclosed that it sold 300,114 EVs in the first quarter of the year. This figure represents a notable drop from the record quarterly high of 526,409 units sold in the previous three-month period when BYD surpassed Tesla. Despite this decline, BYD’s first-quarter sales still showed a 13.4% increase from the same period last year."

Meanwhile, I too can find articles that support biases. Here is one from that same rag as your article:

Welcome to Sydney, where a garage can set you back $500,000

    What was surprising about it?

The buyer was a local. Everything’s transitioningto full electric with the automotive industry. He’s looking into a future withelectric cars. It has power to the garage in which they can use a three-phasecharging system for an EV.

Does the buyer have an electric vehicle?

I don’t believe the owner owns an EV but isthinking about it into the future. He is a car enthusiast.
