There is no doubt that, in the long term, EV's will be much cheaper than ICE's simply because they are a simpler mechanism to produce. The very high EV costs to the Western World are because the whole production line had to be remodelled AND those keen to move ahead into an EV world were prepared to pay whatever was offered.
The BYD world will change all that. The ongoing cars from EV production lines, once in operation, will either provide huge profits OR cheaper prices. I expect the latter or we will all be driving BYD's
