Strewth. You sound like the head salesman at a mens taylor shop when I was 17 working there, earning 3 bob an hour.
He advertised a huge sale, with suits at 50% off. I pointed out that he was only discounting 33%.
He justified it like this: I bought the suit for 100 pounds. I put 50% markup, so the regular price is 150 pounds. Now I have taken the 50% markup off and sell it for 100 pounds. So of course I am giving a 50% discount.
But then again I wasn't the big salesman.
