The problem with America is that they think they are the World . The reality is however that they are a relatively small market for EV's when compared to the rest of the world, particularly in terms of Asia, which is fast becoming more affluent. China doesn't really need the US in its quest to dominate the EV/car market, which they will in time, crushing the legs of US legacy manufacturers by limiting their market reach. And it's not like America produces quality vehicles to compete - and then there's the price tag . In future, the GM's and Fords etc will be forced to amalgamate, and even then, they will struggle to survive on domestic sales alone and their car empires will eventually die a slow death. In the end, they will be forced to capitulate and trade barriers will quietly disappear.
It won't happen overnight, but Western car manufacturers are soon to undergo the greatest paradigm shift their industry has ever seen - and it's all about the rise of EV's and which country is producing the best quality for the best price - enter the dragon.
