Yes, i remember and know very well, that Volvo struggled, because Ford sucked the guts out of it under their ownership since 2000. They sold it to the Chinese company Geely, when Ford themselves struggled. Geely & Volvo had a joint venture arrangement. However, recently Volvo has taken steps to buy themselves out of the Chinese joint venture.
Regardless of that, all EV transportation will still be listening to you & collecting data.
(the Volvo EV range is excellent by the way).
