Most Australian lithium mines, which are almost all located in WA, would either be losing money or barely scraping past breakeven if prices slump back to $US1000/t.
Not sure where that reporter has been living, but I'm pretty sure most of the big boys in WA will still be pumping out FCF at $US1000. KV could be the exception while they ramp up, and potentially could get into trouble if they make a misstep or have any adverse events.
