DVEous, it's because you can't put out an EV fire with water from hose ( submerging works) and if the EV is in a basement car park it's a nightmare situation. It will not be long before insurance companies will not allow charging of EV vehicles under high rise. Training currently suggest letting EV burn and protect exposures is the most environmentally friendly way to extinguish. Lithium batteries and chargers in last 12 months responsible 20% of house fires in QLD. ( not EV's but scooters toys etc.)
