My own feeling is that thanks to the Supreme Court interpretation of predidential power, Americans would be panicked at the prospect of an unfettered Trump laying waste to democratic institutions and installing an autocracy. As soon as the Democrats put up a viable alternative thay will flock to that. No doubt Trump thinks he is king shit, but I doubt Americans are prepared to vote for King Shit to lead them.
