Totally agree - the government should be giving taxpayers their money back rather than splashing it out to prop up an ailing sector! Will companies need to repay the tax credits later on? If not, that stinks!
Either way, why should taxpayer money be funneled to prop up one sector and not other sectors? Take for instance the hospitality industry which has seen lots of restaurants close because consumers are tightening their wallets. Why doesn't the government prop up them with tax credits? You're opening a can of worms by favouring one sector over another. Dare I say it's discrimination? Isn't the Albanese government all about equality and fairness?
