As above, whatever chemistry or cell structure they come up with for low class Sodium batteries, Lithium batteries will have made quantum leaps forward in energy density. Also, as above, elementary school stuff with the periodic table. 11 (Na) is heavier and less energy dense than 3 (Li).

Hey, look, CATL (not a research institute) have actually produced a Lithium battery with 500Wh/kg. It's a case of whatever you can do, I can do better. That's what the Energy rich cheaper Lithium battery said to the poor cousin Sodium battery. Hey, CATL even gives their Sodium battery a plug. Why not, they spent the Money on R&D. Which quality EV do you think they will go in first.

Hey look, CATL again. They've already deployed Lithium batteries in ESS with a cycle life of 12000 and their ultimate goal is 18000. Cannot doubt they won't do it. Look at their R&D budget and workforce. It's not a research institute. They are the real deal.
