Cars are depreciating assets. I've done the math in comparing my previous ICE vehicle running costs and what an EV costs per year to run and the difference was a $6,000 pa saving overall for the ev.
I have not experienced higher insurance premiums owning an EV and don't turn over vehicles frequently, so depreciation wasn't an issue with the switch. This was purely an economical and driving comfort decision and it appears many more people are coming to
similar conclusions.
