I can understand rebalancing by switching between portfolios..
but how do they cover short positions without raising prices ? Do they have long and short positions and shift between them ??
If so that limits the short covering price rise we await...
Any estiamtes on what % of short sellers borrow their shares (as opposed to owning long and short positions) and will contribute to a short covering surge ?
