I think as electricity price per kwh increases it'll make a battery a no-brainer. I would imagine we are only a few years off this. At the moment the battery for home usage is really a lifestyle win not a financial one. The other variable is a decent government subsidy/rebate that doesn't discriminate against higher income households.
Personally I would say I would be 1 year off buying and installing a PW3 with an additional 13.3kw system (off-grid) installed with a PW3-expansion. Would be the go for me.
