The west, led by the US thought that by allowing China into the trading block, they would become more democratic and play by the game.
China adopted some capitalistic principles, like ownership, but they remained a communist state with a dictatorial leadership determined to rule the world.
That is the end game and it is spreading throughout the world, with socialist ideology working its way through societies, imo.
The ccp is loyal only to itself and if anyone thinks differently, then they are naive, imo.
Think what would happen to Australia if China said no to iron ore and coal and what that would do to the economy.
One only needs to see the impact of Chinas bullying when they were called out on COVID.
PLS would be wise to not put all their eggs in one basket and I’m pleased to see they are in South Korea and South America.
