Simply because CATL produces less than 10% of the Li it consumes. If by producing this 10%, at a loss, it keeps prices for the other 90% low, bingo.Now, with the announced stop, CATL it is creating the hope that prices will bounce back soon and some money losing producers might be tempted to keep operating at a loss in the hope prices will recover quickly, maintaining therefore overproduction and cause a price recovery to take longer.Maybe too much imagination ”
