Yep, that's how I see it, to manage it, as shortages of lithium occur, OEM's will need to adapt, keeping the EV/ICE ratios in line with CO2 standards, which would result in lower ICE sales, and thus, overall vehicle sales are impacted.
It's interesting how OEM's are dealing with the Chip shortages, I understand they are prioritising available chips for EV's, likely for the same reason - CO2 compliance.
