Not wanting to cross promote but a small amount of research should reveal who I am talking about.
Think of an end of life lithium battery as a lump of ore that contains, lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite, copper and a few other materials.
The difference that this ore has is that no holes need to be dug before it can be processed.
In Europe it has been mandated that battery producers will have to reveal the downstream recycling process that will apply before they sell new batteries.
This comes into effect in 2024.
In Europe, electric vehicles have been in use long enough for LIBs to have reached the end of their life already.
I expect battery material miners, battery producers and battery recyclers will all collaborate in joint ventures.
A battery recycler is in effect an urban miner.
