Maybe in a parallel universe, all cars have been electric since the beginning. Then a start-up called Ford invented a novel engine which burns some unpleasant smelling liquid to generate power. The liquid is very expensive to produce and the cars using it are dangerous. If you buy one of these cars you will find it very difficult to find a place to replenish the liquid.
Almost everyone says this is ridiculous. No future for this rubbish.
And they are absolutely right. Ford went bankrupt after struggling for five years.
