Wearing my best tin foil hat, China prioritise all materials for domestic consumption, for China made EV's by Chinese OEM's. Due to upstream raw material elevated cost's, Chinese converters, if not already, may be starting to experience severe margin squeeze, thus could apply force majeure clauses wrt supply contracts with foreign OEM's manufacturing in China and export customers.
Therefore rest of world will be willing to sell you an EV, but battery not included, which the later can be ordered with expected (sometime) in 2026 delivery date.
As per BMI, we are in the midst of a global battery arms race......
