I have a holding over there, they are very confident that they have the ability to get silicone in the batteries. From what I’ve read once they finally hit the market the car companies will not seek to increase the mileage. They will instead use the extra energy density to reduce the size of the battery packs thus reducing weight and cost of the cars.
In terms of the effect on PLS if these batteries and any potential similar ones become the norm I think would be positive. Less batteries in each car but a substantial increase in affordability to the general public would in my opinion see far more EVs sold and a quicker transition away from ICE
