So the guy has a different opinion than you do...and you reply with that, explain why this person isn't entitled to his view, there exists facts/figures/papers/books on the other side of the ledger as well.
And the people that have written literature on the subject matter that have a different view of the issue than yourself (and there are more than a few), are you surprised they can read as well ?
